Anthony Farrell
Anthony Farrell signed for the Sheffield Eagles in 1989 from Huddersfield and at that time was a record signing for The Club. Starting as a centre it was as loose forward for the Eagles that he made the position his own. He had a distinctive distinctive running style and a devastating sidestep. When combined with a no nonsense attitude and never taking a backward step it means he is still remembered to this day by Eagles fans from that era. Anthony was part of the Eagles team that played in the historic first game in Super League against Paris St Germain and he received international recognition playing for both England and Wales. He linked back up with Gary Hetherington, signing for Leeds Rhinos from where over six years he continued his list of achievements, including a Challenge Cup victory in 1999.
