Jack Howieson
Jack Howieson was born in Hemel Hempstead outside the rugby league heartlands. Having played both rugby union and rugby league from an early age he was signed for the Sheffield Eagles from Hemel Stags Rugby League team. He earned a formidable reputation as one of the best forwards in the competition and was a favourite with the fans as a result. He was known for his ability to offload, great footwork and his committed attitude to playing. He became club captain, leading from the front and was captain in the victory in the Championship Grand Final in 2012. Jack was another player who committed over 10 years of his career to the Eagles, making his mark on and off the field as a development officer for The Club. He played at international level for Scotland and at the end of his career moved into coaching both in rugby league and rugby union.
