Eagles Foundation 10K for £10k
Would you like to help the Eagles Foundation raise funds to support its work by running the Sheffield 10k on Sunday 24th September?
Run for the Foundation
We're aiming to raise £10,000 to support the work of the Foundation, building on the successes to date, which includes running our Learning Disability, Women’s and Wheelchair Rugby League sides, supports our Touch and Walking Rugby sessions and helps us to reach 1000s of young people in Sheffield each year. The Foundation continues to grow, expanding it's work and any money raised will help support this.
It would be great if we could get at least 20 people running as part of the team including Foundation staff, Eagles fans, players and anyone else who would like to run with us.
We'll provide you with a running top for the day and we'll set up a joint Just Giving page that you can direct any sponsors to. All that we ask is that you let us know that you're running with us and pay your own entry fee for the run - you can sign up HERE.
We'll try and organise a get together for everyone closer to the day to meet each other in advance and perhaps all run together as a practice at a local parkun to help with training.
If you'd like more information or have any questions then just email enquiries@eaglesfoundation.co.uk.
The Eagles Foundation
The Eagles Foundation is a registered charity with a vision of “harnessing the power of sport to make a lasting, positive impact on individual’s lives”. The Foundation works in partnership with Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Club to create opportunities for people to get involved in sport, improve their wellbeing and engage in their local community. The Eagles Foundation remains an independent charity and is governed by a board of trustees which are entirely separate to the Sheffield Eagles’ board of directors.
In 2001 the Eagles Foundation (formerly the Include Foundation) was the first community foundation established by a rugby league club in England. Over it's history it has worked with thousands of young people in schools, supporting the development of the game. After a dormant period it has re-focused it's activities working with the RFL and Sheffield City Council to appoint a development officer, securing funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for the Eagles Heritage Project and further funding from the RFL employing a Disability Inclusion Officer. The Foundation has established women's, wheelchair and physical disability teams as well as delivering a range of community engagement activities. This was recognised in 2022 with the Eagles Foundation being awarded the Championship Foundation of the Year by the Rugby Football League.
