Mick Heys

Mick Heys has been part of the backroom staff at the Sheffield Eagles for over 25 years, where he is now the Club’s head physiotherapist. He started out coaching the Junior Eagles (who then became Hillsborough Hawks) when he was training to be a physiotherapist. He asked for some experience with the Sheffield Eagles, which coincided with the start of the academy team, which he then became closely involved in, both pre and post merger with Huddersfield. In the early 2000s he took on first team duties and has become an integral part of the Club. He places player welfare at the heart of what he does, ensuring they are fit, well and ready to play, supporting them through the rehab process. He works closely as part of the medical team and is recognised for the support and mentoring he offers others.
