Gavin Brown proved to be one of Mark Aston’s best signings at the start of the new era for the Sheffield Eagles. In the 10 years he played for The Club he was a great organiser on the field from the scrum half position and was Mark Aston’s last half back partner. He was the first choice goal-kicker for many years and still holds the record for the most drop goals in a game and in a season. He became The Club captain and was instrumental in many of the key games throughout his time with The Club. Gavin was another player to contribute to the success of The Club off the field as well. Having worked as a Community Coach, he was later promoted to Community Development Manager and became the driving force behind the Sheffield Eagles Scholarship.
